LVS #103: Whiskers

The mustache may have either been my 1st fear or my 1st amusement. My dad tells a story of how I saw someone with a ‘stache when I was really young & publicly called him out:  ”Look, Dad! It’s a Mustache Man!” If it was fear, I overcame it last summer sprouting & sporting this Hulk Hogan-ish horseshoe mustache:

If it was amusement…well, I’m still amused. Facial fur is just funny. It turns men into muppets. Anywho…in other news…I reworked an old project I did freshman year of high school (’92-’93) & posted it to youtube. Playing with it gave me some food for thought about animating these drunk mosquitoes at some point.  If and when, you’ll be the 1st to know.  I’ll keep ya posted.  In the meantime, check out the clip (& don’t judge too harshly…I mean, the source tape was VHS & it’s lost a few generations over the years).  It was originally titled “blur” (I think because that was my favorite band at the time).  I’ve renamed it “Black Times at the Blue Lizard,” which I think fits better.  So, kick back, fullscreen the youtube.  If you’re wearing bifocals, tilt your head back & zoom in.  And enjoy!

Black Times at the Blue Lizard

Oh yeah, it’s the weekend.  Here ya go, sport: have a drink!

Narragansett (for my old friends in Little Rhody)

1 1/2 oz. Bourbon

1 oz. Sweet Vermouth

1 dash Anisette

Stir in an old-fashioned glass with ice. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.  Bartender, how do you pronounce that again?

Cheers,

Lee
