Okay, this one’s either “Yuk! Yuk!” or just “groan.” I’m not a massive baseball fan or anything, but I thought this would be a fun spin on an old joke. In my limited baseball fandom though, I do like the Yankees, and I feel I should qualify that. My wife’s dad is from Syracuse (huuuge Yankees fan), so my wife is a huuuge Yankees fan (and knows infinitely more about baseball than me). My mom and stepdad used to live in Poughkeepsie (loooved the Yankees). So, I really can’t escape it. I think I’m destined to be a Yankees fan. Since I grew up largely between Oklahoma and Missouri though (and went to college and lived in St. Louis), the Cardinals will always have a #1 place in my little National League heart. I did make the sojourn with my wife’s family to Yankee Stadium this past summer to at least have bragging rights that I’d been to a game in the “house that Ruth built.”Anyway, next week, I’ll have something a little more than this week’s “copy n’ paste” extravaganza. In the meantime, if you want a lil’ something extra, here’s a quick skeeter sketch I posted on twitpic and the LVS facebook page this week. Also, I updated some of the links on my links page. Check under my “not-a-webcomic” friends (hint. hint.)! Some really fun stuff from some very creative individuals.
Have a great weekend and here, have a drink(2 days ’til Opening Day ’09…Are you ready?):
Brandy Alexander
1 1/2 oz. Brandy
1 oz. Dark Creme de Cacao
1 oz. Half and Half
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the brandy, creme de cacao & half-and-half. Shake & strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the nutmeg. Incidentally, Mickey Mantle’s drink of choice!
Cheers,
Lee
