The first strip is done! Hopefully, there will be many more to come! I know this one’s really, really rough. I sketched the whole thing with a pen (no penciling first), then took a pic of it with a digital camera and imported it into Photoshop. I’m not sure if I like the look of my mosquitoes yet, but I’ll keep practicing and playing with the design. La Vida Skeeter stems from an idea I had last weekend. Me & the Mrs. were watching a movie on the lawn of Tulsa’s Philbrook museum, and the mosquitoes were pretty thick. After I slapped a couple, I begin to imagine the mosquitoes using my neck or arm for a bar, where they go to get a drink and talk about all things mosquito. I’m going to try and crank out one of these a week, if possible, so keep checking in with me & these little bloodsucking bugs.

Banana Daiquiri
1 1/2 oz. Light Rum
1 tbsp. Triple Sec
1 1/2 oz. Lime Juice
1 tsp. Sugar
1 Medium Banana,
sliced
Mix ingredients in blender with a cup of crushed ice & blend until smooth. Pour into a festive glass and garnish with a cherry. Throw the banana peel in the path of your nemesis.
